Brand Design
Part of the complete rebrand of The Calcot Collection, an eclectic group of luxury country house hotels, spas, restaurants and inns across the Cotswolds and Northumberland.
Barnsley House & Spa was the most romantic of the Collection’s properties — an intimate country house hotel known for exclusive weddings and special events, set within historic gardens originally created by celebrated garden designer Rosemary Verey. The gardens, with their distinctive character and changing seasons, were central to the identity and experience of Barnsley House.
The logo icon was inspired circle of life within the garden, along with the vibrant colours and spring flowers. It uses the core typefaces established across The Calcot Collection to create a clear family resemblance while giving Barnsley House its own distinctive identity. Supporting identities for Barnsley Spa and The Potager restaurant were designed to sit naturally alongside the main brand.
The rebrand extended across every aspect of the guest experience, from digital communications and responsive websites to printed collateral and on-property materials. Website design and development was overseen to ensure the brand look and feel carried through to sophisticated booking platforms for rooms, dining, spa treatments and events.
Creative direction also encompassed brand photography and videography, social media imagery and ongoing content, alongside an extensive range of high-end print including brochures, books, menus, wine lists, signage and internal communications.
Barnsley House has since been acquired by The Pig Hotels and is no longer part of The Calcot Collection.
